Background
This project, part funded by the European Social Fund, will create online content to support specialist built heritage maintenance, repair and conservation skills in a range of traditional trades including leadwork, stone masonry, and plastering. The material will cover specialist techniques and use of material, as well as the cultural and economic forces which influence each trade. The major use will be in programmes combining virtual elements plus practical training at Further Education Colleges and at a planned skills centre, to be established at Fyvie Castle. We will also create material to support professional skills in managing craft work in built heritage repair, conservation and maintenance. |
